Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset
Dedicate yourself and you can become successful!

There are many people who believe that if you were not born with intelligence, then you cannot become intelligent ever in your life. This is definitely not the case. With hard work and dedication, you can definitely become successful and live comfortably.

The definition of growth mindset is:

In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.”

Having the growth mindset brings with it many attractive qualities to become successful. Through having this view on life, you can build resilience to accomplish your goals. You will also be more driven and you will inevitably become more consistent and persistent to reach success. Having this mindset will allow you to treat each failure as a learning experience as you will know that these failures will make you a better person.

All of these qualities are amazing and they will definitely push you towards success but none of these qualities will aid you on your journey to success more than the inner belief that you are in control of your own destiny. Having the growth mindset will allow you to feel like you can do anything and you are capable of shaping your life the way you want to.

I will be releasing a mystery novel by the end of 2020. I will be posting updates on my Twitter and Instagram accounts below. It would mean a lot if you could give these accounts a follow and if you could support the movement!

There Is Always Room For Improvement

There Is Always Room For Improvement
Always try and better yourself to achieve success!

You should always strive to be perfect. There is no doubt that this will make you a better person overall. However, there is a fine line between striving to be perfect and thinking that you’re perfect. If you strive to be perfect, you bring along qualities such as persistence, determination and consistency. If you think you are perfect and you can’t become any better, then you will become obnoxious and arrogant.

Understand that you can always improve no matter how much you think you know. I shall talk about this exclusively in a later post but adopt the growth mindset. This is the mentality where you believe that you can develop abilities and talents through hard work. You do not believe that everything is fixed but rather you can learn the skills to become the successful.

There being room for improvement applies to all walks of life. If you want to become a better footballer, then always strive to be the first person in training and the last one to leave. If you want to become a better content creator, then do your research and find out what content the audience in your niche likes and what they interact with.

The lesson to take away from this post is to strive to be the best you can be in whatever you put your mind to. You can always improve upon yourself so do not take failures to heart. Treat them as a learning experience  and channel that disappointment into positive energy.

I will be releasing a mystery novel by the end of 2020. I will be posting updates on my Twitter and Instagram accounts below. It would mean a lot if you could give these accounts a follow and if you could support the movement!

Build Resilience

Build Resilience
Be able to fail without loss of enthusiasm!

Building resilience is key in becoming successful. There will be a lot of hurdles on the way to the top so if you can have resilience and be able to overcome these obstacles, then you will be well on your way to reach the top of the mountain.

A skill you will need to master to be able to build resilience is to see the positive even in the worst of occasions. There will be many downfalls in life and at the time, they can be traumatising. However, if you can be positive and use this positive energy to push through these obstacles, then resilience will be a skill you inevitably pick up.

You should always treat each problem which comes your way as a learning experience. That way, you will be learning more about yourself after each issue which comes your way. Knowing yourself will definitely help to build resilience. People tend to give up on their goals because it gets too hard. One of the reasons this happens is because that person does not value themselves as they should do. As human beings, we can all overcome so much in life. It is just about taking that risk and taking that next step to accomplish your goals in life!

The ability to adapt is crucial in becoming more resilient. When a big change happens in your life, you must be adaptable to pick up this change and to be able to become successful despite this change. Being adaptable is a very good skill to acquire and it enables you to pick up new information with ease.

By becoming more resilient, you will be well on your way to setting yourself up for success!

Make Gratitude A Habit

- Posted in Uncategorized by
Make Gratitude A Habit
Be grateful for what you have in life!

Always strive to be in a state of mind where you feel gratitude for what you have in life. There are many people who compare their lives to people who are in better positions than them and this makes them depressed and have moments in their life where they think about what they don’t have.

Always think about what you do have rather than what you don’t have. This will allow you to feel thankful for what God has given you in life and will mean that you are happy regardless of how much money you have or how high of a reputation you have. These are materialistic things and we should all strive to focus on being happy rather than trying to please everybody else.

When something good happens in your life, remember it and most importantly, remember the details. Make sure you think back on the obstacles that were stopping you from achieving that goal and you still reached it. As humans, we tend to think about our flaws and the bad situations in our lives rather than our accomplishments and what amazing things we have done.

Everyone has a place or does something which they enjoy and they take comfort in. Whenever you feel low, have the willpower to go to that place or to go do that one thing which makes you happy. Maybe it’s a certain type of food which cheers you up. Whatever it is, go get it and this will definitely help.

Spend time with loved ones and appreciate your support network. No matter how big or small it may be, we all have a support network which we can just go to even in the worst of times.

Be grateful for the little things in life. A lot of people wait for a big moment to happen and they post it everywhere on social media and the next thing you know, they’re back to feeling low again. If you feel thankful for the little things in your day to day life, then how can you feel low? Yesterday, on my way back home from work, I was on the bus and I saw a wheelchair user come on. That alone made me feel grateful of the fact that I can walk.

A lot of people have restrictions in life and they still are grateful for what they’re blessed with. So you should be too! Always be grateful and thankful and thank God always for the position you are in.

Act With Integrity

Act With Integrity
Always do the right thing in life and let your character shine through!

For me personally, integrity is an important trait for a person to have. A person who has strong moral principles and who sticks by their words is a person who has my utmost respect. This is what I will be touching on in this post.

Always do the right thing whether you are under the eyes of other people or not. It shouldn’t matter what the situation is or how many people are watching you. This should not be your motivation to do the right thing. Your motivation should stem from the fact that you would like to help other people.

If you see someone who is struggling with their shopping, then offer a helping hand. Offer to open the door for people. Show manners when out in public. Be a figure with a good reputation. We always talk about role models and when we instantly say the term “role models”, people always look to celebrities. However, role models can be found in every facet of life and there are many role models in every community. You can be that role model for someone if you act in a kind and friendly manner.

If you see something that is wrong and it is being widely accepted, then don’t be afraid to pull people on it. Remember to not be pulled in by peer pressure and to always do the right thing, no matter what the circumstances may be.

This post can be applied to every walk of life. This is not just for when you are out and about and interacting with strangers. It also stems to how you conduct yourself at home. Doing the right thing definitely applies to when you are in education and when you are at work. Have the mentality of doing the right thing and it shall take you very far in life!

Follow Your Passion In Life

Follow Your Passion In Life
You should always strive to be happy!

The first thing I want to say on this post is to never settle. If you hate what you do, then you should think about changing your current situation. We all have our passions in life. If you follow this passion, then your life will become a whole lot better. Even if it is not your main source of income, you will feel rejuvenated and a lot more stress-free knowing that you have an aspect of your life which you love.

For me, my two passions right now are writing and helping others. I love putting out content and I pursue my passion by writing blog posts. Intertwined with writing blog posts lies my other passion which is helping others. I strive to write every day to help my readers. If there is anything you would like for me to write about, I will be more than happy to help and I will add it to the list of upcoming blog posts. With the writing passion of mine, I am also looking to release a murder mystery novel by the end of 2020. I have begun writing this and have planned all the characters etc. It is going to be the perfect present for Christmas so mark your calendars 🙂

We are all human beings and we all love different things. Find what you love and integrate it in your day to day life. It may not be possible to do it daily but schedule some time in so that you are able to say that you are following your passion in life. Remember that your passion may change as you go through different stages in your life. This is perfectly fine! The main thing should be that you are happy with the life you are living.

What do you do to follow your passion in life?

I will be releasing a mystery novel by the end of 2020. I will be posting updates on my Twitter and Instagram accounts below. It would mean a lot if you could give these accounts a follow and if you could support the movement!

Your Time Is A Valuable Asset

- Posted in Uncategorized by
Your Time Is A Valuable Asset
Value your time wisely as it is very limited!

If you knew how much of an asset time actually is, you would not choose to waste it so easily. Everyone has 24 hours in a day but not all of us utilise this time to our advantage. There will be moments where you will have multiple things you could be doing at the same time. You will have to make a decision to choose how best you wish to spend your time.

The time you spend each day should be pertinent to your goals in life. If you’re the type of person who is very driven, then you should make your day very productive and work towards your goals. You may be a person who works a full-time job and then when you get home, you just want to relax and put your feet up. So the time you allocate here is quite intuitive as you will work from 9-5 (or other hours) and then you will relax when you get home.

You should always know that your time is valuable and let other people know this as well. If you are being summoned to go out and you need to get work done, then let them know. If they are your friends, then they will respect this. Saying this, you should always strive to have the balance between work and pleasure. Schedule some time in to wind down and to relax. If you are always in work mode, then this will tire you out and will ultimately drain you.

Plan how you want to spend your days. Preparation is key for everything in life and it is no different when it comes to your time. Always plan ahead in life and you will be much more effective in reaching your goals.

Always focus on the bigger picture. Life can drag you down and it becomes so easy to focus on the little negatives in life that you forget why you are doing what you are doing in the first place.

Meeting Deadlines

- Posted in Uncategorized by
Meeting deadlines is something which you will definitely need to do at some point in your life. This post is aimed to help you hone in on this skill.
Meeting deadlines is something which you will definitely need to do at some point in your life. This post is aimed to help you hone in on this skill.

Deadlines is a word which haunts everybody. It has negative connotations as it adds extra pressure for you to complete a task in a specified period of time. Life comes to a halt just so you can hand in that dissertation on time or you drop everything to complete your homework so that it is ready to hand in the next day. Whatever the case may be, deadlines are daunting which is why you should do the following things to stay on top of them.

Keep a list of all your deadlines

One thing you should definitely be doing is tracking all your deadlines. This could be in the form of a diary or even of a simple book which you use to make notes in. There are even some apps out there which will allow you to create a to do list. Whatever the method, the most efficient way to stay on top of your deadlines is to keep a track of them.

Break down what needs to be done

The deadline is going to be linked to a task that needs to be completed. So in order for you to meet your deadlines efficiently, you need to know how much time you wish to allocate to complete the task. This may sound difficult at first but try and break down the task into daily chunks. So think to yourself how many hours you are going to spend per day and this will help you meet your deadlines more efficiently.

Stop procrastinating

This may sound like an obvious step to meet your deadlines effectively but it is so easy to just say to yourself that you will start tomorrow. Have the mindset that there is no tomorrow and you need to get the work done today. Procrastination, no matter how small, will definitely stop you from meeting your deadlines. Be productive and consistent and you will crush your deadlines.

Prioritise

If you have multiple deadlines, have a prioritisation system so that you know which task you are going to complete first. Make a note of when the deadlines are and this should help you in allocating time for each task. If the work you are trying to complete is marked, then think about how much they contribute to your overall grade. This is another aspect you want to think about when prioritising your deadlines.

If there are any other tips and tricks you have for meeting deadlines, please share in the comments below.

Rest and Recovery

Rest And Recovery
We do have to work hard in order to accomplish our goals but remember to rest so that you can are giving 100% each and every time

Yes, you have to do work to see results but don’t tire yourself out. If you feel like you’re tired and work is getting too much, then take a day or two off and just do whatever it is you do that alleviates stress. Go out with your friends to eat, watch a movie etc. Do anything to take your mind off school, exams or even your goals in life. I know the feeling of fatigue and that revision can make you stressed. Believe me, I’ve been there. I once took like 2-3 weeks rest just to get myself away from all the work and stress. Like I said before, rest and recovery are crucial in you passing exams because you need to have days where you don’t do any work just to take away all the stress. So, if you’re feeling under pressure that you need to do work at a certain time, then don’t. Just rest and get your brain back to optimal levels. This practice also works for when you are out there trying to accomplish your goals. Of course there are going to be days where you go all out and you will try to be as productive as possible. However, this can lead you to deplete all your energy. Ensure that you can do your work at a high level consistently.

You should always get a good night’s rest so that you are feeling fresh for the following day. The worst thing that can happen is you don’t get enough sleep and you feel the effect of this throughout the following day. This groggy feeling is due to the lack of sleep. Always ensure to get the right number of hours of sleep to charge yourself for the upcoming day.

Know Who Your Real Friends Are

Choose your friends wisely!
Choose your friends wisely!

Friends will come and go. The real friends will stay in your life and they will genuinely care about you and support you in all your endeavours. It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish between your real friends and your fake friends but you will get a vibe from each person you associate yourself with.

Real friends will always have your back and will always have your best interests at heart. Notice how I didn’t say that real friends are always on your side. For me personally, a real friend is someone who tells me when I am in the wrong. The last thing I would want in a friend is someone who takes my side even when I am in the wrong. It is down to this that people tend to go down the wrong path in life.

A real friend will also help you in your time of need. They will be there for you and will encourage you to do anything you put your mind to. When you ask them for help, they will be there and will show their support every step of the way. They will also make time and go out of their way to help you.

Friends are crucial with your daily habits and how you behave around people. If you surround yourself with negative people, you will naturally pick up the habits of your friends. Surround yourself with those people who have good habits and who treat others with respect.

What qualities would you want in a friend? Let me know in the comments section below.
